Processional

If your team leader has not already told you please make sure your team is clear who will be the first, middle and end person in the student line.

Southeast -  STAFF NAME

Southwest -  STAFF NAME

The lines of candidates must be inside, at the threshold of the main floor, by 8:50 a.m./1:50 p.m., and ready to start the processional. You will be the first people in the student lines, process with the candidates into the Pavilion hallway and wait for the commencement coordinator’s cue. When given the cue you will direct the students to begin walking down the center aisle. You are also most likely the counter or puller. Please see the below COUNTER & PULLER instructions for more details. If you are not a counter or puller you will stay in the hallway and keep the traffic flowing.

You will disperse yourself throughout the middle of the lines to help keep the students in order and keep the flow going.  Make sure students are paying attention and there are no gaps as they enter the hall during the processional. All of you will also be responsible for helping candidates who arrive late locate their major as the students are entering the hall. Check one last time to make sure all candidates have their photo card filled out as they enter the Pavilion. Late students will be seated in the back and can join their major when called. NO EXCEPTIONS.

During the Ceremony

Once all the students are seated if you are wearing a robe, you may sit on the east and west sides of the main floor against the wall during the ceremony. Some of you PLEASE stay in the back of the hall to help monitor guests from crossing the rope onto the main floor.

If you see candidates throwing beach balls, toilet paper rolls, tortillas etc., we ask that you please help in removing them.
