Agricultural Sciences
The
Division of Agricultural Sciences is the focus for college missions relating
to agricultural production and the utilization of agricultural products.
Programs within this division emphasize production and consumption systems,
organismal biology, genetics and biodiversity, agricultural ecosystems
and ag/urban interfaces.
Research programs strive to expand the knowledge base relating to the biology of agriculturally important plants, animals and microbes, and discover and develop new technologies or production systems that increase the yields and competitiveness of agricultural commodities, protect the environment, enhance the nutritional value and safety of food products, improve nonfood consumer products and use natural resources efficiently.
