International Agricultural Visitors Program
The International Agricultural Visitors Program (IAVP) welcomes interest in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. IAVP staff are available to answer questions regarding the possibility of a brief visit to the UC Davis campus to meet with faculty and others with expertise in agricultural and environmental sciences. When possible, professional appointments are arranged regarding agriculture, the environment and related academic and administrative subjects. Schedules may range from several hours up to a full day of appointments on campus.
The following information is required to determine whether a visit is possible.
- The exact date of the visit (including arrival and departure times to and from campus)
- Information about the visitor or the group (country, number of persons, titles and professions)
- The specific topic of interest for discussion at UC Davis
- English language capability (IAVP does not provide interpreters)
- Number of escorts (if any)
- Method of transportation to be used on campus (car/bus/van)
IAVP also accepts requests to visit the UC Cooperative Extension County units and the UC Research and Extension Centers.
Requests from sponsoring agencies with contact offices located in the United States are welcome. In some cases, a sponsoring agency in the U.S. may inquire about professional visits to occur at locations throughout California or United States. University fees will be requested for this type of program. The fees will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
IAVP does not issue letters of invitation. Visas and other legal documents are the responsibility of the individual or sending agency.
IAVP is an official university member of the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV) under the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The International Agricultural Visitors Program provides opportunities for international leaders and their U.S. counterparts to meet and develop professional relationships.
