Study and Technical Programs

Study Programs 

  • IwIwateate:  For the past 30+ years, students from Iwate Agricultural Junior College of Japan visit UC Davis for a week-long technical field program. This program introduces students to a variety of agricultural operations found in California as well as the activities of the University of California, Davis and the University of California Cooperative Extension

 

  • chinaChina Agricultural University: In September 2018, China Ag University sponsored a delegation of 18 undergraduate students and 2 professors to travel to UC Davis and undertake a summer short-term exchange study tour on agricultural green development and sustainable agriculture.  This was repeated in August 2019 with 29 students and 4 professors participating in a summer study tour on agricultural resources conservation and environment protection.  In both summer programs, students interacted with campus faculty and technical experts.

 

Technical Programs

CA&ES Global Engagement at UC Davis facilitates learning experiences for global visitors, from classroom-based training to field visits in professional and technical content related to agriculture and environmental sciences as well as connecting research collaborations and logistical management for visiting groups. Group size ranges from individual researchers to university and professional groups of 40 people from single-day to multi-year programs both on campus, domestic and international locations.

Training programs: CA&ES Global Engagement serves as the focal point in conceptualizing, providing and implementing programs in agricultural and environmental sciences, creating custom programs that combine classroom-based theory with field and professional visits to building hands-on skills to suit the needs and objectives of each group.

Group size: 2 – over 40
Training duration: 1 day to multiweek, many lasting approximately 2 weeks
