Faculty members often work directly with businesses to address critical concerns. Companies regularly sponsor research activities to solve pressing concerns, make philanthropic gifts to support faculty working on topics of corporate interest or fund equipment for hands-on learning.
Examples
- Campbell Soup has created endowments for graduate students in nutrition, funded research on sustainable agriculture and invested in state-of-the-art food processing facilities allowing for hands-on learning.
Naming opportunities are also possible to honor corporate philanthropy and create new facilities, programs and other offerings not currently present on campus.
Industry partners can utilize the college’s unique facilities for their research needs or in collaboration with a campus researcher. UC Davis also has a suite of technologies available for license and works via Venture Catalyst to foster research and technology into real-world applications.
