Dr. Mark Andrew Bell is an international research and extension expert with experience both at UC Davis and within the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR). He has held many roles involving planning, extension, training, and development which led to the creation of training academies and development of courses and online tools for research and extension. He has extensive experience at both the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and International Wheat and Maize Center (CIMMYT) including roles as the head of international programs and training where he developed multiple courses and online tools for research and extension, including the globally recognized Rice Knowledge Bank. He has conducted research and extension assessments and reviews in multiple countries, including Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Colombia, Guyana, Mexico, Myanmar, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Thailand. Dr. Bell helped guide Agrifoods 5 during the initial alliance kickoff and plans to work with us to usher in this next phase.
