Aggie Ambassadors has been a valued student organization within the college since 1998 and has inspired other similar programs across the university. The club continues to evolve to meet the needs of a changing student population but has remained committed to helping students develop and use their leadership skills, gain a deeper understanding of the vast breadth of the college and build lifelong connections through outreach and volunteering.

Aggie Ambassadors is led by an elected group of student leaders each academic year with guidance from a dedicated staff member. Aggie Ambassador members recruit for officer positions which assist in overseeing member communication, selecting class topics and speakers, coordinating events and workshops, and planning opportunities for members to socialize. Our officer team is comprised of committed students that volunteer their time and talent to this organization while also developing their own personal and professional skills.

| Alexavier E. Carrillo, Class Coordinator Advice: Alexavier’s advice for new students would be to not hold yourself back out of fear of judgement or the words of other people. Davis is a brand new environment for many and is the perfect opportunity to not only find yourself but really the things you enjoy too. Every opportunity whether big or small is just as important and you shouldn’t stop yourself because of the words or actions of another so go out there join that new club, go meet that new person, go be yourself and see everything that UC Davis has to offer you. |
| Mauricio Cedeño, Workshops and Logistics Coordinator Advice: Mauricio would like to advise new students to try your best and to have fun while doing so, in a safe and responsible manner! He recommends that you don’t be hesitant to try new things as these opportunities can lead to growing as an individual. UC Davis is an opportunity to explore your interests and make new friends, so don’t be afraid to jump right in! |
| Ricardo Guzman-Miranda, Member Relations Coordinator Advice: Ricardo would like to advise new students to remember their ‘why’ for being at Davis, especially during those hard moments when motivation is hard to come by. If he has learned anything while being at Davis, it’s this: without motivation, the smallest things can become impossible, while with motivation the impossible becomes manageable. |
| Caydince Huston, Class Coordinator Advice: She’d like to advise new students to branch out of their comfort zone and make new friends. Her first year was tough, but her new friends made the best of it all. |
| Marina Kibota, Outreach and Events Coordinator Advice: Marina strongly encourages new students to browse through the Class Catalog for subjects / classes that might (unexpectedly) capture their eye. Perhaps a new passion will arise from taking some of these classes (for Marina, these were entomology, phylogenetics, and soil science). |
| Annaís Mendoza, Workshops and Logistics Coordinator Advice: 1. Take advantage of every opportunity that interests you. Don’t let yourself end up looking back and wondering what might have happened if you had joined a club or attended an event. Don't let moments pass you by. You can always adjust your commitments later if something isn't a good fit, but you can never go back in time to get more involved or take new risks. 2. When stress comes, remind yourself of the reasons you are here. Whether that means making your family proud, creating a better future for your children, or achieving your own personal goals. Remember the people supporting you, because even if they don't fully understand the daily pressures of college, they are always in your corner rooting for your success. |
| Emily Padilla, Communications Coordinator Advice: The biggest piece of advice Emily can offer is to "YOLO" your college experience, while staying safe and responsible. Take the hike, go on the trip, say yes to new opportunities, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Whether it's taking a class that sparks your curiosity, applying for an internship, or meeting new people, every experience has something to teach you. The worst that can happen is that it isn't for you, but you'll still gain valuable lessons along the way. College is a unique time to explore your interests, challenge yourself, and create memories that will last a lifetime. |
| Eli Roche-Sanchez, Communications Coordinator Advice: Eli’s piece of advice to new students is to try and push yourself in ways you wouldn’t normally do. For example, getting involved with things you are hesitant about, trying new things entirely, and realizing that you are always capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for. College is the perfect time to develop new hobbies or passions, meet some amazing people, and learn things about yourself you never even knew. But in order to take full advantage of this time it's essential to branch out and create the changes you want to see in yourself, even if you don’t know for certain where it will take you. |
