The Eleanor and Harry Walker Award Fund was established to support and recognize excellence in advising at UC Davis and in the CA&ES. Proceeds from the fund are used to support David Spight, NACADA President, the keynote speaker at UC Davis Academic Advising Conference, and to support academic advising awards in CA&ES.
Dr. Harry Walker was a professor in the Department of Land, Air, and Water Resources at UC Davis for over 40 years. He served as Associate Dean in CA&ES, was chosen by the UC Davis Academic Staff Organization as its Outstanding Academic Lecturer, and received an Outstanding Advisor Award from the campus. Dr. Walker led the development of the Exploratory Major Program in CA&ES and served as a Master Advisor for undergraduate students in the program for many years.
