A Message From the Dean - September 2021

Welcome to the start of a new school year! The energy on campus is quickly shifting as students settle into campus. It is great to see new faces and our colleagues in person, and I am definitely excited to see food trucks and places to purchase coffee! We have been working from home for an unprecedented amount of time, and while we expect this next phase of transition to take us time to adjust, I am continually reminded of how resilient and adaptable we are within the college, even in the face of the unknown. The chancellor captures the spirit and determination of our campus in last week’s chancellor’s message when he says, “We are ready.”

Our vaccination numbers are quite high and our positivity rate remains low…and that is worth celebrating. Campus COVID policies continue to change to reflect county and state mandates, so please continue to check out the Campus Ready website for the latest information.

In preparation for the new school year, the Undergraduate Academic Programs (UAP) team has adjusted their hours and advising to meet the needs of students in this new hybrid environment. We look forward to hearing from our students and determining how best to support them.

There have also been several campus branding changes over the past year. This summer, the Communications Team developed new web pages to provide resources and tools to help departments, centers and institutes with creative projects, press releases and communication strategies.

We are ready for this next phase and ready for whatever the future holds. If there is anything we’ve learned in the past 20 months, it is that we are strong and capable and remain focused on moving forward.

Go Ags!
