Agroecology Farm Lab
The Agroecology Farm Lab will cultivate a new global standard for food production that will sustain productive, nutrient-dense crops and thriving, healthy soils that optimize the use of external inputs.
Animal Science Facilities
A new animal facility would provide an innovative and supportive learning environment for students and a flexible research space to allow faculty to push the knowledge of animal behavior and health.
Experiential Learning
Teaching and research outside the classroom gives students opportunities to sharpen their critical thinking skills and experience how science is applied in real-world settings, whether it be at a river, in an orchard, or inside a dairy.
Faculty Innovation Fund
To retain and meet the research needs of our faculty, we propose creating a $5 million endowment to provide seed grants that support our faculty's promising and inspiring research ideas.
Food Loss and Waste Collaborative
The Food Loss and Waste Collaborative is leveraging the uniquely interdisciplinary landscape at UC Davis to better understand why and where food is wasted, reduce waste across the global supply chain, help consumers reduce waste in their home and to develop useful products from food that cannot be consumed.
RMI Expansion
An expansion of our facilities will greatly enhance our ability to increase our research capacity, develop sustainable best practices and prepare the next generation of wine makers and viticulturists.
Shaping Healthy Choices Program
With the support of visionary philanthropic partners, one of our goals is to build upon the success of the Shaping Healthy Choices Program to include middle and high-school-aged youth.
Sustainable Living and Learning Community
Students will live, work and participate in project-based learning that is focused on integrating food production with recycling systems and residential spaces. This special community will create an environment where students develop leadership skills to build a more sustainable world.
