Caren Weintraub

Director of Communications

Caren Weintraub is the communications director for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. She oversees a creative team that consists of two writers, a web and social media specialist, a graphic designer, and a photographer/videographer. Together, the team supports communications for undergraduate academic programs, faculty and staff, alumni and friends of the college and industry partners. Caren manages communications strategy, publication development, press releases and media relations. She is also a speechwriter and develops communication plans, oversees web content, and provides consultative support for the academic departments and centers and institutes housed within the college. She has been working at UC Davis since 2006. She earned a B.A. in sociology/social service from UC Davis, and an M.S. in communications from Purdue University. She loves to cook (and eat!), and at the present moment, is mildly obsessed with Ted Lasso. She can often be found roaming the local agricultural fields and green belts with her pup, husband, and on very rare occasions, one of her teens.
